Clearing your Energetic Body

In my forays into healing, and more recently into mediumship, learning how to clear my energetic body has become an important part of my daily practice. When I first started healing, I was trying to simply sleep through the night and stop having anxiety. Healing now has taken on a broader meaning, as I am healing myself not only for me, but also so I can heal and help others more effectively. Lately this has meant having a clear and shining energetic body. The importance of having a clear light body really hit home for me this weekend, when I went to Suzanne Giesemann's Serving Spirit Level 2 training in Savannah, GA. It was an amazing training and I'm so thankful she is my teacher. While...

Staying the Course

The past month has been a lot for us as a family. If I'm being honest, the past two years have been a lot. Some days it feels as if we've been charting a ship through fog. We know there is sun up ahead, clear skies, and beautiful days, and we just have to trust and have faith that we'll get to the other side, even when we can't always see it. I know I'm not alone in these sentiments - was January a tough month for a lot of us? From the cold, to the grey days, to seemingly never-ending Omicron and kids too young to be vaccinated, our plates have been full. At least, ours has felt that way. And yet, there are good...

Connecting with Your Angels

Many of us are told as children that we have guardian angels. We may accept that they are there, but never expect to see them or encounter them in some real way. And yet, improbable as it may seem, the angels really are with us, right next to us, guiding us and helping us. My healing journey has taken me to unexpected places and opened me up to belief systems I never thought I’d accept, one of those being the existence of an unseen world that exists alongside ours. Our unseen helpers, including our angels, are here to help us grow and develop along our soul path. They are a lifeline of hope when the physical world around us appears disconnected from that hope. Accepting some of...

Feeling the Angels

On a quiet morning over the weekend, my daughter told me that she saw a light that she thought it was an angel, and wanted to know if it really was an angel. Having seen glimpses of angels and spiritual light on and off in my life, I told her I believe that it's possible. I believe sometimes people do see angels. I also told her that even if we don't always see them, we can feel them in our hearts. To which my daughter said something that really gave me pause and made me rethink the life we've been living the past few months: "How can I feel the angels if I have too much to do?" I paused. It is hard to feel the angels...

The Lightning Rod of Peace

If I'm being honest, the past few months have been pretty overwhelming in my life, personally. Has it been for you as well? My daughter went back to school after being home for over a year due to the pandemic, and I went back to my work full-time. It's taken time and attention to remain centered in peace, but when I've taken the time to really come into Presence, it's helped me and my family a whole lot. I titled this post the Lightning Rod of Peace while thinking of some meditations from one of my teachers. Sitting still and centering, we tuned into the chakras resting above our crowns that extend a few feet above our bodies. As I tuned into these chakras in meditation,...

Seeing the Love

A question that has come up time and again is - Where is God when tragedy strikes? It's easy to feel confused when watching the news or when experiencing difficulties in your own life. I'm not a sage or a wisdom-keeper, but I can tell you what I've learned since my Spiritually-Transformative Experience (STE). I hope it will be helpful. As I write about often, in my STE I felt God's love very intensely, for me and for everyone. I saw light in all things and people. This experience, or really, series of experiences, was so profound that it shifted my life completely. But as many people ask and as I wondered in the past, if that light is there all the time, why doesn't it seem...

Lashon Hara & Talking Trash

The past few weeks I've been thinking a lot about the importance of speaking kindly about others, and about how easy and yet how harmful it can be to gossip. Gossip can feel good because it brings us closer to the people we're with, but it is ultimately harmful to ourselves, to the people we're talking to, and to the people we are talking about. How can we stop? It requires real compassion, and an understanding that we don't have the full story on everyone around us. We need to be aware of the power of our words and be truly committed to living a life of love and non-violence. As a dear friend put it, "everyone needs a little grace." I love reminding myself of...

Centering after Social Media

Almost a year ago, I deactivated all my social media accounts. While I had been considering taking a break and had periodically taken breaks from time to time, that day my daughter had asked me a simple question that hit me right in my heart. "Mom, does the Earth get sad if we don't look at it?" Her simple, innocent question gave me pause. It was July 2020 and I was definitely swept up in looking at my phone - not at the earth, and not at the real people around me. While I wasn't a prolific social media poster, I did have active Facebook and Instagram accounts. My personal Instagram account had over a thousand followers at the time. Did I even have a thousand friends? I...

The seed of joy

There is a kernel of joy at the center of your being. It was with you when you were born, and it will be with you throughout your life and beyond. It is your essence, your soul spark, your true nature, and the seat of God within you. We each have this seed of joy, no matter who we are or how we seem to others. And yet, sometimes it can be hard to connect to that joy. Between kids, jobs, bills, and the news (and anything else you may have on your plate), that joy can so easily get buried beneath all the needs of the day. I have definitely been aware of how much I've let the worries of life take over and cloud...

Be the Love

I would love to say that I sit down to meditate for an hour a day. I hope someday when life is calmer I'll have time to do that! But for now, with a young(ish) daughter and a job, I am only able to catch a meditation here and there. It's not always every day, and sometimes it's just a few minutes, but those moments help me recalibrate and awaken in ways no other practice in my life does. Last month I shared one of my favorite meditations, a light and color meditation from one of my teachers, Suzanne Giesemann. In it, we're guided through sending color and light to each chakra. Red for the root, orange for the sacral, and so on up to the...
