Staying the Course

Staying the Course

The past month has been a lot for us as a family. If I’m being honest, the past two years have been a lot. Some days it feels as if we’ve been charting a ship through fog. We know there is sun up ahead, clear skies, and beautiful days, and we just have to trust and have faith that we’ll get to the other side, even when we can’t always see it.

I know I’m not alone in these sentiments – was January a tough month for a lot of us? From the cold, to the grey days, to seemingly never-ending Omicron and kids too young to be vaccinated, our plates have been full. At least, ours has felt that way. And yet, there are good times as well, and, without being in denial of what’s happening, I’ve been implementing ways to stay connected to the light and joy.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, meditating is the number one way I stay connected to peace, to joy and to my inner light – I just have to make the time & space to do it. Even just five minutes has helped! In my meditations I am able to raise my vibration, connect to my guides, and remember there is more to life than what we can see. There are so many great meditation teachers, but I’ve loved this simple meditation from my teacher Suzanne Giesemann (Ten Minute Transformation), which I’ve shared before. A lot of my friends also love the teachings of Tara Brach.

I’ve also recently started back up doing Donna Eden’s Daily Energy Routine, which has been really helpful, easy, and fun. It consists of several simple exercises to help clear energy blockages that can make one feel stagnant over time. The whole thing only take about five minutes. I’ve already felt a difference just from starting them last week.

This time doesn’t have to be easy. It’s ok for it to be hard. Yet even in these moments, we can still reach up and connect to our higher natures and bring light into wherever we are. You aren’t alone, and there is sunshine up ahead. It’s already within.
