Dream Power
I’m late getting this blog post up today! I slept later than usual this morning thanks to several wake-ups by my daughter last night, and by the time I woke up it was time to begin the day. This is the first quiet moment I’ve had since, and it’s after 9 pm. Such is life. As grateful as I am for my full life, these quiet moments to write keep me whole.
I wanted to write tonight about the beauty and power of dreams in the healing process. Though I am not certified in dreamwork and I haven’t taken any courses in it, I’ve experienced for myself the ability that dreams have to change our lives if we pay attention to them.
Many times along my path I’ve been alerted to something in my waking life that needed attention in a dream. I’ve written before about some of the precognitive dreams I started having after my experience, but I haven’t written much about the nightmares that plagued me before my experience of the light. They were truly terrifying and only dissipated when I faced them with love in my heart and was no longer afraid of them. Other times I have pretty mundane dreams. They feel like my brain just letting off steam as I sleep.
I wasn’t raised to see dreams as meaningful messengers. I was raised to analyze them as reflections of myself in a detached sort of way. The precognitive and psychic dreams I started having after my experience really made me question and eventually change my belief system. Dreams are powerful messengers. Though I don’t understand the mechanics of it, I do feel our dreams are connected to our souls and to God.
When I’m in need of guidance, I’ll sometimes say a prayer before bed, asking my angels and guides to send me a dream. I recently prayed to be shown who my teacher could be, as I’ve been feeling ready to learn more from a respected teacher. That night I dreamt I was in a class with Suzanne Giesemann, a spiritual teacher and medium I’ve been reading and following for over a year. She was never someone I considered studying with because I have never considered myself a medium, but she looked right at me in the dream and it felt important. When I woke up I enrolled in an online class and an in-person class, which I’ll be attending in just a few weeks. I’m nervous and excited!
We all have the ability to receive guidance in our dreams. What do you need? Ask for your angels and guides to send you a dream to help you along your path and see what comes up.
Sweet dreams!
