I’m Rebecca, a pediatric speech-language pathologist, healer, speaker, and teacher. I underwent a truly life- and perspective-altering Spiritually Transformative Experience (STE) in my twenties while working on healing from childhood trauma.
My STE occurred while I was in graduate school at Teachers College, Columbia University, and started when I spontaneously devoted my life to God while writing in my journal. That night I saw a beautiful light that spoke to me, after which I began seeing light emanating from everyone, feeling angels around me, having psychic dreams, seeing alternate timelines of my life, and feeling how connected we all are to each other.
My experience lasted for two years, ending with a beautiful dream of an angel who told me that life was amazing, that I needed to go out and have adventures and live a good life, and finally that I needed to learn how to swim, which I now understand as a metaphor for integrating my spiritual experiences and learning how to live a balanced spiritual life in the physical world. Watch or listen to my podcast interviews or read my weekly Substack to learn more about my unexpected spiritual experiences and how they changed my life.
I call myself “The Accidental Mystic” because it all seemed like it happened by accident. I didn’t believe what happened to me was possible, and I spent a long time trying to make sense of my experiences before I started sharing publicly about them. My question over the years shifted from “was it real?” to “did it make my life , and the lives of those around me, better?” It did, and that is real enough.
